How To Start Jogging To Improve Your Eczema

You have to be healthy to have healthy skin. This means you have to eat right, reduce stress, and exercise if you want your skin to be eczema free. However, exercise is often the treatment option that people are most intimidated by and more likely to avoid. Finding ways to make exercise simpler and less intimidating is the best way to get the exercise you need to prevent eczema.

Jogging is a great exercise, but it can also be the most intimidating. If you want to start jogging, the trick is to start slowly. Starting slowly will not overwhelm you and help you build your endurance. The greater your endurance, the more you find that you enjoy your jogs and even look forward to them.

If you are currently very sedentary, you should start the first week with a brisk walk for 30 minutes. The next week, you should perform a warm-up brisk walk for five minutes. Then, alternate running for 60 seconds and walking for 60 seconds. This should make your total walk time of about 18 minutes and 13 minutes of jogging. The next week, change the run time to 90 seconds against 60 seconds of walking.

Each week, add on 30 more seconds of run time. Keep increasing your jog time by 30 seconds each week. Once you hit 5 minutes of jog time, try to jog for 15 minutes straight. After one week of jogging for 15 minutes, extend the time to 20 minutes with a 5 minute warm up and cool down brisk walk. By this time, you should have the endurance to jog as long as you want.

Do not use eczema as a excuse to skip your jog. If you are treating eczema you may worry that the sweat and heat will agitate your condition. Not exercising will cause more long-term damage than exercising. Use a towel to frequently dab sweat away from your afflicted skin. When you are done jogging, wash your skin completely. Drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated from the inside.

While the exact causes of eczema are still unknown, what is known is that unhealthy people are more prone to eczema. Jogging is a great way to stay healthy. Using this simple plan, you will quickly jog your way to stronger, eczema free skin.

Interesting article, I like the theory that eczema can be helped by jogging. I think any healthy lifestyle changes are good for most skin conditions. Maybe I don’t have any excuses now to get outside! LOL
