With or without an occasion, women will always find a reason, or nothing at all, to buy another pair of shoes to add to her already exploding collection. But when you think about it, each dress needs a particular style of shoes to look stunning. Shoes can make or break your whole outfit. You can’t wear Nike’s with a stunning black evening dress. Wearing black dresses deserve albeit a simple but equally elegant shoes. So yes, women do need a lot of shoes.

To choose the perfect pair of shoes for your beautiful evening gown, here are a few things to consider:

Color. To choose the color of your shoes, ask yourself first if you want your shoes to match or contrast your dress? The choice entirely depends on your mood or sense of style. A black evening dress is perfect with a black pair of pumps or stilettos, but it will create a unique and stronger fashion statement when paired with gray, silver or even red shoes. The color of your shoes can also match with the color of your bag for balance.

Style. Shoe styles are endless and finding the perfect pair could be a frustrating task. Tip: choose a style that complements the embellishments of your dress. If your dress has rhinestone accents, pick a pair of shoes that has the same design. Wearing black dresses in flowing silk fabric require strappy sandals to look even sexier. A black evening dress made of heavy silk goes best with leather pumps of velvet shoes.

Height. The height of your shoes depends on the length of your dress. If you’re wearing a full-length gown, a 5-inch stiletto is the ideal pair. If your dress is shorter at knee-length or above, a pair of pumps with 3 inches of heel is simply perfect. But you have to consider the height of your companion, too. If you’re naturally taller than the guy, try to wear short-heeled shoes to even out the height. Society standards dictate that men should be taller than women so choose a height of shoes that will make you at least a half or inch shorter than your date.

Comfort. Whatever design of shoes you choose, comfort should come first above style. No matter how expensive or glamorous your shoes may be but you feel uncomfortable or even painful wearing it, your whole look is ruined. As with wearing black dresses, your black dress should be comfortable above being stylish. Style should never compromise comfort. No matter how simple your shoes or dress may be, being comfortable in it gives you enough confidence to come out looking beautiful, sexy and simply perfect.
