There are many reasons for wanting to replace a natural grass lawn, regardless of whether it might be the front lawn or the back lawn. In a few cases the decision could be one of personal aesthetic preference and in others it could be because the task of maintaining the upkeep of the lawn is becoming too much.

Whatever the case, the range of choices of synthetic grass is wide. Not only can you choose a brand of synthetic grass you can also choose the species of grass that you’d like your fake version to mimic. You can choose to lay a lawn of fescue, ryegrass or bluegrass and, in some cases, you can also choose how long the grass can look to have grown.

You should be aware that not all local governments will allow a front yard to use synthetic grass, so before you begin your investigation of the various types of artificial grass for sale you should find out whether it is actually allowed in your area.

Once you have chosen your synthetic grass, and have confirmed that you are allowed to install it, the task of the installation can take place. Most suppliers will also offer an installation service and in the majority of cases the best advice is to pay for the installation to be done. Those doing the installing should be experienced synthetic grass installers and will have the proper equipment to do the job right. You might also find that if you do the installation yourself you will be voiding your warranty – something to consider.

Even though one of the selling points for installing synthetic grass is that it is low maintenance, regular care of your new synthetic grass will be required to keep it looking as much like real grass as possible. It will have to be swept, cleaned and fluffed or else the grass fibers are going to quickly become clogged with debris and it will look matted and tired.

If you put in a little bit of work in caring for you new synthetic grass you will be able to enjoy it for many years to come.
