If you are interested in getting an eyebrow tattoo then you will want to know as much as possible about caring for your skin, and the tattoo itself, when you get home. The eyebrow tattoo artist should give you plenty of advice in this area but one thing you won't want to forget is the use of a suitable oinment to sooth the effective area.

Eyebrow tattoo aftercare is simple if you have a sterile ointment or cream. Simply wipe away the old cream and apply more about 6 or 7 times a day during 10 days to two weeks following the procedure. Do not soak them in water, do not use very hot water, do not scrub, scratch or pick off scabs and just let them be. Try to keep them moist at all times with cream or ointment so they don’t get too dry and flaky. Only wash them briefly once a day and do not allow them to remain wet in a bath or prolonged shower. Water will dry them out. If your eye brow tattoo feels tight, this is normal, but instead of scratching them or rubbing them, get relieve by gently massaging them with sterile cream.

Just a few extra suggestions: Try not to go out in the full sun when you are caring for your skin after this procedure as the area is especially sensitive and will burn more easily than normal. Also, excessive heat may cause redness and delay the healing process. Try to avoid activities that will cause perspiration which will irritate the brow area. Do not swim or engage in sports for at least 5 days.

Note: part of your eyebrow tattoo aftercare is to monitor their redness and to inspect them for signs of puss or infection. Redness and swelling is normal for 2 or 3 days, but if the redness or swelling does not diminish gradually but increases after 2 days, get your self to a doctor immediately. An antibiotic cream or ointment may be required, or in some cases an oral antibiotic as well. Don’t take risks with eye brow tattoo infections because if not treated quickly they can cause scar tissue to form that will not be very pretty.
