The demand for persons who are knowledgeable in the six sigma field is increasing every day. More companies are finding out the many ways this methodology can help improve their business productivity. As the strategy spreads in many companies, you can now easily find corporations and government organizations advertising for six sigma jobs. You will also find small companies advertising for the six sigma jobs, which makes it even easier to get one. With the hiring of people as permanent staff or consultants, there will be a rise in vacancies in full time job.

There are many types of six sigma jobs. You will find them with senior and junior levels whose requirements are all different. Many organizations are known to train their own employees for these jobs. However, this shouldn’t put you down; these organizations usually reach to the outside to get more qualified personnel and employ them for certain projects or even full-time. You can find advertisements for this job in many titles like “lead analyst” and “director of operation excellence”. Training in DMAIC and DFSS are usually required from a person. As they say, the nest teacher is experience, having worked in another company for a specific time increases your chance of landing the job. You will find many companies preferring or even insisting on persons who have completed at least one project in this methodology.

Management experience is also a good thing to have. Having a resume with a completed previous completed project increases your chance of getting into the organizations good list and thus landing the job is easier. It is also important to be able to show case good understanding of the field.
