The Autogenic Method:

Simply put, Autogenic training is basically a simple form of self hypnosis, it can be aided with various tools such as a voice recorded routine ( that you can make your self ) or even just internalized thought.

An Example of an Autogenic Exercise would be to close your eyes and listen to your own voice or that of another repeating a few simple phrases soothingly while you focus on visualization. Imagine your voice saying, or record the following for playback.

  1. Take a comfortable meditative posture, sitting. Count from one to ten.
  2. My arms are heavy. Warm and heavy.
  3. My arms and legs are heavy and warm. Repeat 3-5 times.
  4. My chest is warm. Repeat 2-5 times.
  5. My forehead is cool. Repeat 2-5 times.
  6. My neck and shoulders are heavy. Repeat 2-5 times.
  7. I am now at peace. Count backwards from ten to one.
