If you were watching the Super bowl yesterday like 80 million other viewers, I pretty sure you didn't miss the Dockers Free Pants commercials that were aired with men walking around chanting "I wear no pants." It was pretty hilarious if you seen it.
My first impression was, WTF?!?
The ad was to promote Dockers pants which told everyone to check out www.Dockers.com/freepants and to enter for a chance to win a free pants. I'm sure millions of viewers went to check out that site and also enter into the drawing. The next morning, everyone whom enter in the Dockers Free Pants campaign most likely got a email not to notify that they won a free pair of docker pants but more of a promotion about Pajama Jeans, which apparently is the latest fad in casual wear.
I think Dockers did a good job in promoting their clothing brand and gave an interesting and Super bowl commercial ad that will be remember until next years round of Super Bowl ads.
If you take into an account of how much it cost to get a 30 second commercial to be aired during the Super bowl, there is a lot of money on the table and if your commercial is the talk of the day after the Super bowl, you know it was a hit. The average cost of a 30 second ad is priced around 1 million dollars!
The price might sound outrageous but if you think about all the 80+ million viewers that it'll target it probably worth that million dollar investment especially if the commercial was a hit. I'm pretty sure Dockers.com/free pants got over a couple million hits yesterday during the game and definitely is probably still getting millions more today!
